Civil Society Empowerment

What is civil society empowerment?

The UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) recognizes the vital role of civil society in combating corruption by calling on governments to increase transparency, improve public access to information, and to promote public contribution to government decision-making processes.

We support the engagement of civil society and help them to build their capacity by providing them with the necessary information, tools, and networks to work constructively with government, private sector and society on fighting corruption in Chad. Our approach is drawn from regional and international best practices that have been adapted to the local context in chad. Given the potential for CSOs to influence the anti-corruption ecosystem, we will work with CSOs to promote transparency and accountability within their own activities. We will work to help CSOs to establish an anti-corruption strategy within their own organizations.
